Our main activities are in the field of environmental engineering and chemistry involving the development of membrane, media technologies and UV irradiation, for the treatment and re-use of industrial and brackish waters and contaminated soil investigations and remediation.
Research in the holistic treatment of pig manure, the treatment of acid mine waters using natural minerals as media, carrying out environmental impact and risk assessment studies, and the development of analytical tools for the mapping of soil and water hydrocarbon contamination.
Our personnel has been involved in surveys of ground and surface waters for pesticide residues, soil contamination studies by organochlorine hydrocarbons (PCBs), degradation studies of pesticides after spraying, the design and construction of pilot plants for the removal of boron from ground water, hazardous waste management, and inventorying electrical equipment containing PCBs.
We are operating our own small laboratory for environmental analysis, and apart from the permanent staff we engage a number of external consultants, chemists, environmental engineers, geologists and hydrologists according to the work needs.
